March 26, 1975 Dearest Mother & Daddy-- Received the air-mail package of Steph's activity books on Saturday -- Thanks much. I really hate to see you spend so much money on air-mail postage though -- next time, mail 6 months early! Things have been pretty slow around here -- Joe has been working on data, writing up his quarterly report, and trying to write a paper on the roadrunner. I haven't been doing much of anything. Ladies' Tea is this afternoon at our house so I finally got this house pretty clean. Stephanie is fast becoming a Mickey Mouse freak. She has made herself a pair of ears, taped them to some string, and runs around in them all day. She listens to the Mickey Mouse March on her record player about 6 times daily. She and Erin play "Mickey and Minny" half the time and "Cheetah and Wild Dog" the rest. Of course most of the nonsense is a direct result of her Paw-Paw -- the day before she left Texas the 2 of them, as you will recall, watched Disneyland on TV and her big- hearted, sentamental grandfather promised her a trip to Disneyland when she got back from Africa. She ain't going to forget it either -- she has told hundreds of people about this trip and invited most of them to go along! You had better stop buying savings bonds with your quarters and start buying airplane tickets. Much love, Jan, Joe & Stephanie.
