fitzwilly's

Address
303 University Drive, Northgate
College Station
(979) 846-8806

Hours:
Daily 11 AM - 1 AM

Directions:
Fitzwilly's Bar and Grill is located on the Northgate strip, directly across from campus on University Drive. You will notice it as the big 2 story white building with the cowboys painted on it.

Prices:
Very Reasonable. Their combo meals start at under $4.00 and include a nice sized burger, fries and a drink (including beer if you're legal!). Two people could fill themselves easily for under $10.

Veggie-friendly?
Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! I think that if they have veggie dishes, it's a salad. Otherwise, all other veggies are battered up or covered with some derivation of meat product. This is Texas, if you want to be a vegan, move to California.

Notes
Service is taken from the old Dairy Queen model: Order at the bar, and we'll call your name when it's ready, which is actually pretty quick, even at peak times. Make no mistakes, Fitzwilly's is primarily a bar, but they make some of the best hamburgers you are going to find, and the atmosphere is very nice.

The all-wood interior and 2-level design make it comfortable with a true feeling of what it means to be in a Texas bar. Drinks are also reasonably priced, and they serve both brews and hard liquor. The music played through the day ranges from country to old school rock and roll, without R&B or rap for those as repulsed by it as the rest of the true Texans are.

Live music is also a featured attraction at Fitz's, with bands appearing reularly 3 or 4 times a week. During Aggiecon, Fitz's comes alive with music as it takes part in North By Northgate, the annual music festival in which Fitz's operates 2 stages with bands playing all night long. Space fills up quickly that weekend, so get there early.

If you enjoy the feel of Fitzwilly's but want more of a college bar scene, try Duddley's Draw just a few buildings down, which is also owned and operated by the same people.

Overall, no College Station experience would be complete without a trip to Fitzwilly's Bar and Grill.
